Know Your Customers, Earn Their Loyalty, Grow Your Sales

Collecting Customer Data for Future Use

By now, we have a pretty good understanding of how everything YumaPOS “fits together”.

We have sales data coming in from our POS APPs, Uber Integration, eSHOP, Mobile App & Website.

You are recording VENDOR INVOICES and have costs against your income.

This is where a lot of business owners stop.

I want to show you that gathering and using information about your customers is a potential gold mine.

Build Customer Rapport & Trust, To Drive Future Sales

Others have said this better than I can ….

“Building rapport and establishing trust with customers is essential to the success of a customer-centric sales strategy… showing genuine interest in the customer’s needs and concerns and offering solutions that are tailored to their specific situation… build a strong relationship with them… maintain contact after the sale… nurture the relationship and build a foundation for long-term success.”

Market Wavegen

YumaPOS allows you to add key identifiers to a CUSTOMERS profile.

You can then use those identifiers to enhance your customers experience, tailor marketing campaigns and target specific GROUPS of CUSTOMERS.

Key Identifiers

YumaPOS have deliberately kept these very limited.

Most are not even compulsory !

Why ? Because you don’t want your CUSTOMER to feel that you want them to sign away their first born child.

  • Required
    • First Name
    • Phone Number
    • Address
  • Optional
    • Last Name
    • Gender
    • Birth Date
    • Email
    • Address

Wait a minute, address is optional and required ? Well yeah. If this is for a DELIVERY ORDER it is required, but if you are just collecting the POST CODE, it could be optional.

It is also notable that some of these can be toggled on / off in settings.

Gathering Customer Information

Where you are selling online, be that via eSHOP, MOB APP or a food aggregator like Uber, your CUSTOMER will usually be required to provide minimum data to process their ORDER.

If you are using CUSTOMERS as a membership platform, the data is usually part of your sign up process.

Using CUSTOMERS to replace “buy 10 and get 1 free” paper cards ? These are often set up, ad hoc, by the cashier at the POS APP using minimal data.

Maybe you want to build a database of customers to use the MARKETING modules in YumaPOS ? You may call it membership or loyalty or some other customer friendly name. Try adding a sign up form to your WWW or create a paper sign up form for next to your POS.

Whichever method you use, it should be minimally intrusive to your customer.

Exclusive Member Deals

Make signing up to your “club” seem exclusive or limited.

Customer Groups

By default, every single CUSTOMER is in the COMMON GROUP.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could use the information you have collected about your CUSTOMERS, to sort them into GROUPS that you can then MARKET to and create PROMOTIONS for ?

I want to introduce you to two methods of “sorting” your CUSTOMERS.

Customer Group : Manual

Manually Sorted Group is exactly as it sounds – it is up to you to look at each CUSTOMER and add them into a suitable GROUP/GROUPS.

Customer Group : Auto Filled

Auto-Filled Groups are maintained by your YumaPOS BOM. You define the CRITERIA for the GROUP and every 15 minutes your BOM will move CUSTOMERS into and out of the GROUP/S.

BOM CUSTOMER GROUP AUTO FILLED

Briefly though, this AUTO-FILLED GROUP can be  based on things like :

  • Gender
  • Registration date
  • Days of inactivity
  • Birth date
  • Sales dollars
  • Number of Orders
  • Sales for a set period
  • Order types
  • Loyalty points
  • Order Reviews
  • Store
  • Delivery Zone

The “connector” between these criteria is AND.

So for a CUSTOMER to end up in a GROUP where you have set …

Gender = Male
Store = My Fabulous Boutique
Delivery Zone = Perth CDB

… the CUSTOMER must be Male AND have shopped at My Fabulous Boutique AND have a delivery address inside the Perth CBD.

YumaPOS is a Business Tool

Please don’t think of your new POS as a glorified calculator with a cash box attached.

YumaPOS is a business tool, that collects and collates valuable data, that should be used to not only get repeat sales but also new sales.

As always, your support team are always here to discuss your aims & goals with you.
